Hand block printing has been thriving for almost 500 years, and our company has been teaching this traditional art form while incorporating sustainable practices for over 15 years.
Taking a closer look at the processes behind the clothes we wear can bring about a profound shift in the way we perceive fashion and its impact on the environment.
Keeping this in mind, we also organise workshops alongside our custom printing services.

Our workshops are designed as an immersive, hands-on experience—offering not only the opportunity to print, but to understand the living processes, materials, and science behind this traditional craft directly from the 5th and 6th generation Printers in the community, Vijendra and Yash Chhipa.
Below are the workshops we currently offer.
The day begins between 9:00 and 10:00 A.M. with an Indian chai (You have to drink it, no matter how focused you are while printing), followed by a guided walk through Bagru village.
During this walk, we introduce you to the many stages involved in hand block printing as it is practiced here—washing and preparing the fabric, different styles of printing (including mud resist printing, natural dyes, and eco-friendly pigments), block carving, preparation of natural colours, dyeing, and boiling of fabric.
After the tour, you will work in our family atelier and print your own textile using hand-carved wooden blocks (DO NOT drop them) and eco-friendly inks. You are encouraged to explore your own ideas and create a design on a scarf or an accessory of your choice (again do not ask us to help design, we will only help in printing).
Your finished piece can be taken with you at the end of the workshop, which usually concludes between 12:30 and 1:30 P.M., or whenever you feel ready.
Workshop Fee: ₹2,500 per person
Optional home-cooked lunch: ₹500 per person
For those who wish to spend more time learning and working with the process, we offer a Two-Day Workshop that allows for deeper engagement.
The workshop begins similarly with a guided village tour, followed by hands-on printing sessions. You will be provided with three scarves, allowing you to experience multiple techniques that involves all of the natural ingredients that have been used since the beginning of this process in Bagru.
Day 1:
Natural ink printing with Fermented Iron, Alum, on a Tanin treated scarf.
Mud printing to apply the resist on another scarf.
Day 2:
Dyeing, washing, and boiling of the printed fabrics, followed by pigment printing on the third scarf.
Each textile is fully processed and ready for immediate use. All pieces can be taken home with you at the end of the workshop.
Workshop Fee: ₹7,200 per person
Lunch with our family is included.
